Work Duties
 | Elected member of the HTI administrative
council |
 | Lecturer in Telecommunications, Computer Software and Hardware |
 | Developed the syllabus, designed and equipped the laboratories of the
second year course on Digital Electronics, and Engineering software and
Data communication courses of the final year. |
 | In charge of all the Higher Technical
Institute computer systems, this includes planning, acquisition,
maintenance and networking of HTI. |
 | President of the Advisory to the
Governmental, Central Tender
Board, Technical Committee on IT related purchases of the Ministry of
Finance. This committee examines and approves all the tender documents and
evaluation reports on computer related equipment, issued by all the
government departments, the police and the army. Meetings take place
regularly and cover all areas of information technology i.e. software,
systems development, employment of consultants etc. This committee is
formed by the Central government Tender Board and acts in an advisory role
to the board. The committee handles and advices on all the projects
including the over £1million Tender Board. |

the Ministry of Finance, for the discarding of computer equipment. |
 | The Cyprus representative of the European
Union funded, "Eurodesk" project, the development of which was done for
Greece and Cyprus. |

 | Company in house training including all
the technical personnel of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, the French
Radio Station SOMERA, the Association of Self-Employed Electronic
Technicians (ΣΑΗΚ), CYTA
and others. | Carried out consultancies for a number of
organisations including the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, various
Government Departments and other public organisations in the fields of
equipment utilization, computerisation and networking. |
 | Development of numerous utilities and
application specific programs, in the fields of text analysis, message
management, communication and control applications for a number of
government departments and organisations. |
 | Member of the Accreditation inspection
committee of the Ministry of Education and Culture, for the approval of 2
and 4 year university courses submitted by non-government educational
institutions. |
 | Worked together with the Ministry of
Education and Culture in the design and development of the Technical
School prototype "computers" course. I subsequently trained all the
Technical school teachers involved in this course from all over the
island. |
 | Development in assembly language of a
freeware memory resident keyboard driver for Greek character processing
under MSDOS. This is now a Cyprus Government Standard and was installed in
all Government and semi-government offices and in thousands of computers
in Cyprus and abroad. This must be the most widely used utility developed
by a Cypriot. |
 | Was a member of the team that worked for
the computerisation of the
World Gymnasiade Games that were held in Cyprus in 1992. I was in charge
of networking and communications. |
 | In charge of the implementation of the
Eurodesk Office in Greek, for Cyprus and Greece, a project fully funded by
the European Union. This Project is now also available on the Internet. |
 | A member of the Youth Council of the
Aglandjia municipality. |
 | Development and maintenance of the Cyprus
Youth Board Internet website and Email system. |
 | Suggested and implemented a great number
of innovative projects for young people, through the Cyprus Youth Board. |
 | Cyprus representative in the European
Youth and Information Counselling Agency (ERYICA).
Also serve as a technical advisor to ERYICA. |
 | In charge of Information Technology and
wired Telecommunications for the Cyprus Rally which is a
World Rally Championship
(WRC) event. The whole system is built around 6 servers and 65
computers. |
